A Solapur name, spelled the old way
Sholapur Terry Co brings the weaving of one Maharashtra town to the linen rooms of Indian hotels, with the discipline of a specification sheet.
Generations of terry looms
Solapur has woven cotton for generations, and terry towels are what the town is known for across India. Today its mills run modern rapier looms, and the knowledge of yarn, pile and finish sits with the families who run them.
That knowledge rarely reaches a hotel's purchase desk. Most buyers see a towel listed as “premium quality” with no numbers behind it, and find out how good it is only after a few hundred washes.
Our brand. The heritage spelling, kept on purpose.
The city as it is spelled today, used for place and origin.
“We choose the mill, specify the towel, test it, and put the numbers on the label.”
A merchant, not a mill
We don't own looms. We work with established Solapur weaving units and match each order to the mill best suited to that grade. That keeps us flexible on quantities and lets us hold every lot to the same written specification.
Our role is everything between the loom and your linen room: specifying the product, sampling, inspection, packing and dispatch.
